GAMBIER — It’s once again the time when the Kenyon College Equestrian Team opens its door and gates to the public for a free fun-filled show. The event will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Painted Bayou Farm, 19700 Newcastle Road, Gambier.
On Ohio 229 just east of the Kokosing Gap Trail bike path crossing, below Gambier, is the barn that Kenyon College uses for its horseback riding team. Versed in English and Western riding disciplines, there will be jumping demonstrations and free pony rides. The day’s activities also include a cookout lunch of grilled burgers, hot dogs, salads, grilled veggies and homemade baked goods.
Baked goods and gift cards will be raffled off during the show. All money will go to the KCET for care of the horses and purchase of rider supplies. The public is invited to attend; bring your children for free pony rides during lunch and following the show. The event will take place rain or shine.
