Council OKs applying for enhancement grant

Motorists were driving off the berm of Venture Drive this morning to avoid the holes in the privately-owned road. The city of Mount Vernon has given the Glimcher Group until May 1 to repair the road or the city will close it. Mount Vernon City Safety-Service Director Dave Glass said the city has made minor repairs to the road with gravel but continued deterioration will create an unsafe condition.  (Samantha Scoles)
