Tangled

Two teens were injured when this car went off the east side of Range Line Road just north of Sycamore Road, Wednesday at 3:25 p.m. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the southbound car hit a ditch, knocked down a utility pole and rolled. Driver Matthew Schmitt, 16, Mount Vernon, was taken to Knox Community Hospital. A passenger, Michael Schmitt, age unknown, was also taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released. The driver was cited for failure to operate with reasonable control. Homer Fire Department and EMS responded to the accident.  (Chuck Martin)

High winds cause problems in county

A large pine tree at 105 Verndale Drive was blown down by high winds overnight, bringing down power lines and knocking out electricity in that block. AEP was expected to have the lines repaired today.  (Alan Reed)

Symphony will honor Laudeman

Ann Kahrl Laudeman will be honored by the Knox County Symphony on Sunday for 40 years of musical contribution to the organization. The concert begins at 8 p.m.  (Samantha Scoles)

Board of Health suspends Chen’s Buffet license for 30 days

Chen’s Buffet and Grill on Newark Road is now closed for 30 days as ordered by the Knox County Board of Health for numerous violations of food handling knowledge and proper sanitation procedures.  (Alan Reed)
