MOUNT VERNON — Bids were opened from five contractors for two township bridge projects Thursday morning at the Knox County Commissioner’s Office. Clerk/Administrator Rochelle Shackle opened the bids and read them to those in attendance. Projects which the bids were placed were for rehabilitation of bridges on Hall Road in Hilliar Township and Bear Run Road in Jefferson Township.

The five submitted bids were from Rietscham Construction of Crestline, $499,850; Crawford Construction Inc. of Galion, $447,221; McConville Contracting Inc. of West Lafayette, $401,815; Buds Inc. of Nashport, $449,885; and V.O. Menuez and Son Inc. of Millersport, $414,119.

Knox County Assistant Engineer Larry Bechtel stated that the bids will be reviewed and expects that the winning bid will be awarded sometime next week. The bridge rehabilitation projects are expected to be completed by June 17, 2012.
