Fixing the street
The long awaited repair of Coshocton Avenue got under way this morning as Small’s Asphalt Paving started work. Initially, they are grinding out broken sections of the street. They will follow up immediately paving the section to make a level surface for the whole street. (Virgil Shipley)

Laying down the bricks
Employees from Canyon Construction Co. of Fredericktown were taking advantage of dry weather Wednesday afternoon to replace the bricks on McKenzie Street between Chestnut and Sugar streets. Curbs have been completed and a water line has been replaced, reported Mount Vernon Safety-Service Director Dave Glass. The completion of the bricks in this stretch of McKenzie Street is expected to be within the next two weeks. (Virgil Shipley)
