Truckers have rough going on MV city streets

Street in rough shape

The hill at Chestnut Street is in rough shape. According to Mount Vernon City Safety-Service Director Dave Glass, the hill is scheduled to be repaved in early June. Bidding for the city’s repaving project is set to begin soon. The city is also working to determine if it can fix the deteriorated Venture Drive and bill it to the landowner’s taxes. In the meantime, the holes in Venture Drive will be filled in with gravel for safety purposes.  (Virgil Shipley)
