MOUNT VERNON — A 23-year-old Howard man is in the Knox County Jail following a stabbing early Thursday morning on Kinney Road.

According to Knox County Sheriff David Barber, deputies and Mount Vernon Fire Department medics responded to a disturbance call involving someone being cut with a knife at a residence at 9041 Kinney Road on Thursday at 2:55 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, a 53-year-old man living at the residence was found with a severe laceration on his forearm. He was transported to Knox Community Hospital where he was treated and released.

Barber said Nicholas J. Grosscup, 23, of 439 Grand Valley Drive, Howard, was located later and arrested on charges of felonious assault.

This incident is currently under investigation by Detective Doug Turpen.
