MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon High School junior Matt Omahan won the District 6 History Day competition, and advanced to state competition on April 30.

Although he didn’t win at state, Omahan said it was fun.

“I was excited and honored to compete with other students who enjoy history as much as I do,” he said.

His district-winning research paper contrasted the leadership styles of Omar Bradley and Bernard Montgomery in World War II.
