MOUNT VERNON — A day of national pride, honoring our veterans and cherishing the values of the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence was observed Friday at East Knox Middle School when the East Knox Lions Club hosted a Liberty Day presentation.

Social studies teachers at EKMS prepared the students for the assembly by presenting information to them about Liberty Day and instructing them on the meaning of the Liberty Day celebration.

East Knox Lions Club president-elect Jerry Lindstrom welcomed students and special guests in attendance, telling a little about the Lions Club and why Liberty Day is observed. Lindstrom introduced Don DeVault, Past District Governor of Ohio District 13 Lions.
