  • This old galvanized metal culvert pipe under Vernedale Street at Marita Drive is more than 50 years old and looks like a sieve. It was installed as a storm sewer when the area was developed in the late 1950s. Backhoe operator Jon May fished out this piece of the pipe Thursday morning before installing new PCV double wall pipe. The project was to be completed today.
