MOUNT VERNON — The death of 41-year-old Glenn D. Willey of Mount Vernon is being investigated by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office after his body was discovered Saturday morning outside a local bar.
According to Knox County Sheriff David Barber, deputies and the Mount Vernon Fire Department were dispatched to Choo-Choo’s Bar at 100 Pittsburgh Ave. at 5:50 a.m. Saturday after a passerby observed an unresponsive male on the ground outside the bar.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Knox County Coroner Dr. Jennifer Ogle. She ordered Willey’s body sent to the Licking County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
Although Barber said alcohol likely played a role in Willey’s death, there was no obvious trauma to Willey’s body.
Anyone with information concerning this death is asked to contact Lt. Gary Rohler at the sheriff’s office Detective Division at 393-6800.
