Lisa Tuberville, left, an 11th-grader at the Alternative Center, earned the special “paws award” for the design a T-shirt contest for the Knox County Humane Society. Additional contest winners are, from second to the left, Megan Mast, Fredericktown Elementary School, fifth grade; Marissa Hauke, Wiggin Street Elementary, fifth grade; and C.J. Adkins, East Elementary School, third grade. The Knox County Commissioners were contest judges. Each student will receive a $50 savings bond and a T-shirt with their design. A photo of each student will be displayed at the Gambier Craft Show where the T-shirts will be sold. The designs will be printed on the humane society’s stationary, notecards and banner.
