Lisa Tuberville, left, an 11th-grader at the Alternative Center, earned the special “paws award” for the design a T-shirt contest for the Knox County Humane Society. Additional contest winners are, from second to the left, Megan Mast, Fredericktown Elementary School, fifth grade; Marissa Hauke, Wiggin Street Elementary, fifth grade; and C.J. Adkins, East Elementary School, third grade. The Knox County Commissioners were contest judges. Each student will receive a $50 savings bond and a T-shirt with their design. A photo of each student will be displayed at the Gambier Craft Show where the T-shirts will be sold. The designs will be printed on the humane society’s stationary, notecards and banner. Edward Hostetler of Killbuck, was cited with assured clear distance ahead after his Dodge Ram pickup ran into a vehicle driven by Brittany Foster of Danville on Wednesday morning. Foster was stopped in a line of cars at the intersection of Market and Rambo streets in Danville. Two other vehicles were involved in the incident.
