  • The new bridge over Banning Road at the intersection of Lover’s Lane has been opened. The 71-foot-long by 28-foot-wide bridge is of prestressed beams with a deck of composite concrete and steel reinforcing rods. The cost was $270,000. Knox County Engineer Jim Henry said there are seven other bridges under construction with four more slated for the first quarter of 2012.
