MOUNT VERNON — A feature film being shot in Mount Vernon will force the closure of several streets and parking areas during the next couple of weeks.

“Liberal Arts” will be filmed in Mount Vernon and in Gambier during the month of June.

On Friday, June 10, the filming will be at the Curtis Inn on the Square and First Christian Church on East Vine Street. Two parking spaces on the east side of the square on the south corner closest to Henry’s will be closed for the filming at the Curtis Inn. Also closed will be the east side of Main Street from the Square to Gambier Street.

Parking will be restricted on the east side of Gay Street from Gambier to Vine street, as well as in the church parking lot on East Vine Street and on the north side of the street across from the parking lot.

On Monday, June 13, filming will be at the Russell-Cooper House on East Gambier Street. There will be no parking on the north side of Gambier from Gay to McKenzie; the south side from Gay to East Street; and on the east side of Gay Street from Gambier to Vine.

On June 27 and 28, filming will be at 120 S. Main St. There will be no parking on the east side of South Main Street from the Square to Ohio Avenue, as well as on the north side of East Gambier Street from Main to Gay.
