  • A new bridge on Apple Valley Drive, on the north side of Apple Valley, will open Monday. The bridge replaces six large culvert pipes that carried water from a small stream into Apple Valley lake. A spring flood washed debris against the pipes, which blocked the flow, causing water to partially wash out the edge of the road and berms. Personnel in the Knox County Engineer’s Office decided the pipes were no longer effective and took steps to construct the new bridge.
