MOUNT VERNON — A monthly update from water/wastewater superintendent Jason Figgins focused on continued progress with the installation of more of the automated Flex-net meters when he met Thursday with the Knox County Board of Commissioners. There are 1,929 meters installed to date. Crews are at a stopping point of installing more meters at the moment since June is the last quarterly billing month. This is the final quarterly billing as monthly billing will begin in July. He expects not to have all the new meters installed by July 1 but believes they are on track for completion by July 20.

A couple of instances have been reported with improper Smart-Point identifications installed at the meters, and these situations are being corrected.
