MOUNT VERNON — On Friday, Knox County Common Pleas Court Judge Otho Eyster handed down sentences in six felony cases, according to Prosecutor John Thatcher.
Heather A. Brandenburg (aka Thompson), 26, Mount Vernon, was convicted of identity fraud for using another person’s identity to make charges on a stolen credit card, between July 2 and Aug. 4, 2010. Brandenburg (aka Thompson) was sentenced to a 13-month prison term and ordered to pay $442 in restitution to the crime victim.
Colton R. Spellman, 19, Mount Vernon, was convicted of breaking and entering for breaking into an apartment building on Gay Street, Mount Vernon, on July 7, 2010. Spellman was sentenced to a three-year term of community control supervision, including a 60-day jail sentence, and ordered to pay $513 in restitution to the crime victim. Spellman will serve an 11-month prison term, if he violates the terms of his community control supervision.

Jeffrey A. Hill, 34, Fredericktown, was convicted of trafficking in cocaine for selling cocaine to an MVPD confidential informant, on Oct. 7, 2010. Hill was sentenced to a three-year term of community control supervision, including a 60-day jail sentence, and his driver’s license was suspended for six months. Hill will serve an 11-month prison term, if he violates the terms of his community control supervision. Detectives Craig Feeney and McElroy investigated the case.
Jennifer M. Douglas, 30, Centerburg, was convicted of breaking and entering, possession of stolen property and theft of a check for breaking into a residence on Coshocton Avenue, Mount Vernon, possessing a stolen credit card and stealing a blank check, in February. In a separate case, Douglas was also convicted of possessing a stolen credit card, in December. Douglas was sentenced to a three-year term of community control supervision, given credit for 108 days already served in jail, and ordered to pay $841 in restitution to the crime victim. Douglas will serve an 11-month prison term, if she violates the terms of her community control supervision. Detective Cpl. Matt Dailey, MVPD, and Deputy J.P. Paul, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, investigated the cases.
Tasha M. Hinkston, 20, Centerburg, was convicted of misuse of a credit card for making over $1,200 in unauthorized charges, on Aug. 6, 2009. Hinkston was sentenced to a three-year term of community control supervision and ordered to pay restitution to the crime victim. Hinkston will serve an 11-month prison term, if she violates the terms of her community control supervision. Feeney investigated the case.
Alicia C. Rudd, 19, Fredericktown, was convicted of theft, receiving stolen property and forgery. Thatcher said on Oct. 12 and 14, 2010, Rudd forged and cashed six stolen checks totaling $6,300. Rudd was sentenced to a three-year term of community control supervision and ordered to pay restitution to the crime victim. Lt. Jay Sheffer, Fredericktown Police Department, investigated the case.
