MOUNT VERNON — Thursday’s meeting of the Knox County Career Center Board of Education was mostly routine, reported Treasurer Tracy Elliott on Tuesday.

After hearing about the adult education programs during the recognition portion of the meeting, the board granted the retirement request of English instructor Emily Hoar, who has served for 25 years. It also employed Nathaniel Greene as technology coordinator, reassigned teacher academy instructor Kim Giles to serve as an English teacher and advanced Heidi May and Courtney Springer on the salary schedule due to completion of necessary requirements.
