MOUNT VERNON — Richard Dzik, 29, of Mount Vernon, has been hired as the 9-1-1 coordinator by the 9-1-1 Board.

A native of Cleveland, Dzik is a 2004 graduate of Kenyon College and has been working on his master’s degree in public policy and management at The Ohio State University. He is a firefighter and paramedic at the Mount Vernon Fire Department, where he has been employed since August 2009. He is also a captain at the College Township Fire Department at Gambier, where he has been a firefighter and paramedic since 2001.
