A retired Mount Vernon dentist Dr. John Ewalt, 74, the driver, and his wife, Sharon, 64, were injured in this crash Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Mason Boyce said they were northbound on U.S. 62, two miles north of Martinsburg. The Ford Explorer veered across and off the left side of the road where it rolled over into an aluminum power pole. They were taken to Knox Community Hospital by the Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department and flown by MedFlight helicopter to OSU Medical Center. Boyce said Sharon Ewalt had a serious head injury. Both John and Sharon are listed in fair condition this morning at OSU Medical. Boyce is still investigating the cause of the crash. (Photo by Virgil Shipley)
