CENTERBURG — The Uncle Sammy and Little Miss Liberty “pageant” was the highlight Thursday at the Heart of Ohio USA Days festivities.
Wearing various combinations of red, white and blue, and sporting red boutonnieres the three boys vying for the Uncle Sammy title were first to take the contestant walk on stage. The finalists included Dawson Hinton, age 6, Skylar Lawrence, age 4, and Tressel Scowden, also 4 years old.
Next came four lovely young ladies, also attired in red, white and blue and carrying red flowers. Those Little Miss Liberty finalists included Jordyn Horlacher, age 4, Danielle Lanham, age 4, Allison Moore, age 6, and Brooke-Lynn Smith, age 5.
