MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon City Council will be holding two special meetings this coming week in an effort to get several pieces of legislation passed.

Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Mavis said there won’t be enough council members present at the regularly scheduled meeting Monday to pass the legislation via emergency, so three readings have to be held. Council will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m., then again Tuesday at 5 p.m. and Wednesday at 5 p.m.
