UTICA — The North Fork Board of Education on Monday took the initial step needed to place an emergency levy on the November ballot. The resolution calls on the Licking County auditor to calculate the size of a property tax levy needed to produce $1,360,000 per year for five years.

Treasurer Jack McDonald pointed out that this is the same amount the district unsuccessfully sought in the May election.

Board member David Hayden noted that he doesn’t like taxes any more than anyone else.
