MOUNT VERNON — A void in Lori Beach’s heart was filled on Saturday when Jade’s Place Dog Agility Playground was dedicated at Wolf Run Regional Park’s Bark Park.

In 2009, Jade, a stray rescue dog Beach and her husband, Tom, took in, died after running out into traffic on the busy road in front of the Beaches’ home.

Jade had become a member of the Beach family after being rescued. Beach and Jade bonded through agility training and competition.

“I was going to take her to obedience training but we found agility,” Beach said. “Jade loved it. We had trained for about a year and were just starting to compete.”
