FREDERICKTOWN — The Fredericktown Board of Education on Tuesday discussed district finances and talked about possible levy options for the November ballot.

“We do not have a lot of choice in the matter,” said board president Charles Streby. “We still don’t know the impact of the budget bill.”

Board member Mark Overholt said the quality of education needs to be maintained, and board member Tom Seymour added, “We are operating with a skeleton staff today.”

The board considered the pros and cons of placing any sort of levy on the ballot, and then tried to determine whether an earned income tax would be better than additional property taxes.
