SERGEANT BLUFF, Iowa — Two Mount Vernon men are currently being held at the Wood County, Iowa, jail on felony drug charges.
A traffic stop was initiated on a straight truck near Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, on Interstate 29, after a rest stop attendant asked for a well-check of an 11-year-old girl who requested her assistance.

Jamie S. Cremeans, 40, and William Noel Strouse, both of Mount Vernon, were arrested and charged with possession of precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine. Misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs and child endangerment with no injury were also filed.

According to the Sioux City Journal, the girl was exposed to chemical odors of the meth lab.

Both men are under a $5,000 bond and have a preliminary court hearing scheduled for July 27.

During the stop, a K-9 suspected drug activity that resulted in the finding of “salts, Coleman fuel, drain opener, a syringe and tubing in a bucket,” reported the Journal on Tuesday.
