UTICA — The new principal at Utica Junior High School is Ryan McLane.

Originally from the Pittsburgh area, McLane spent four years in Middletown and the past four years at Dresden Tri-Valley where he taught high school social studies and served as the head wrestling coach.

McLane’s undergraduate degree is from Muskingum University where he majored in business, history and secondary education. McLane earned his master’s degree in sports administration from Xavier University and got his principal’s license through Salem (W.Va.) International University.

“I’m very excited to come to Utica,” McLane said. “I’ve heard great things about Utica, the students, the teachers, the community. I’m excited to become a part of this school system.”
