UTICA — Meeting in special session Friday afternoon, the North Fork Board of Education accepted an offer from Exact Marketing Formula LLC to purchase the Spring Street and Mill Street buildings and related properties. Treasurer Jack McDonald told the News on Monday the offer was in the amount of $185,000. No details as to Exact’s plans for the property are available at this time, pending formal closing on the sale.
The board also redefined the position of administrative office receptionist to remove it from the administrative pay scale. The position has been redefined as a confidential employee, and the individual will receive leave, retirement and insurance benefits in accordance with the classified staff negotiated agreement, but will be exempt from membership in the school employee association.
McDonald said the board also reviewed bids for the replacement of the roof of the district administrative offices and referred the information to the building and grounds committee for further study.
The next regular meeting of the North Fork school board is scheduled for 7 p.m., Aug. 15 at the Utica Elementary School.
