FREDERICKTOWN — Former Danville police officer Tom Looney, 41, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the Fredericktown Police Department on an outstanding warrant.

In July 2010, a Knox County grand jury indicted Looney on one count of grand theft, a third degree felony; and possession of stolen property, a fourth degree felony. A gun specification was included in the indictment because a gun was involved.

Looney resigned from his position with the DPD in May 2010.

He is scheduled to be in Knox County Common Pleas Court this morning.
