MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Police Department continues to investigate a shooting which occurred early Sunday morning and left a Harcourt Road woman in serious condition.
Reported in serious condition at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, today is Lisa Moody of 900 Harcourt Road, Lot 1.
Detective Sgt. Jeff Jacobs said Mount Vernon police arrived shortly after 2 a.m. at the Harcourt Road address where a shooting had been reported. Patrolwoman Jessica Butler tried to go to the assistance of Moody, but wound up in a struggle with Kenneth S. Hall, 41, of 211 Ridgewood Ave., Mount Vernon, the boyfriend of the victim.
Hall was arrested and charged with assault, resisting arrest and obstruction. Jacobs said all the charges are in relation to his actions after officers arrived.
“We still don’t know all the facts about the shooting,” Jacobs said, adding that Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification officers processed the scene Sunday morning. He expects to have the BCI report by Tuesday or Wednesday.
Police are also waiting to see how well the shooting victim pulls through. Jacobs said he was able to talk to Moody briefly before surgery, but she was unable to shed any light on the details of the shooting at that time.
