MOUNT VERNON — Phil Dirt and The Dozers return to Mount Vernon for the 2011 Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.

The Phil Dirt and The Dozers nostalgia show encompasses three decades of music and is performed live. Phil Dirt will transport the audience to another time and place ... namely, the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s of rock ’n roll. Imagine hearing The Four Seasons’ “Sherry” or the Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody” or “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling.” Other favorites include the ballads of Roy Orbison, including “Pretty Woman” and “In Dreams,” and party on the beach with The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean. The Phil Dirt Time Machine also stops in the ’70s, with hits including those from the Doobie Brothers, Grand Funk Railroad, The Eagles and even the O’Jays.

The 2011 Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival runs Thursday through Sunday in downtown Mount Vernon with various activities each day. For additional information, contact festival organizers at 740-392-FEST (3378) or e-mail director@DanEmmettFestival.org.
