MOUNT VERNON — Organizers of the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival could not have ordered more perfect weather than what Mother Nature provided on Thursday.

The cool temperature and soft breeze brought local residents and visitors to downtown Mount Vernon throughout the afternoon, culminating in what could have been a record crowd for a Phil Dirt and the Dozers concert at the festival.
