MOUNT VERNON — The city of Mount Vernon is getting ready to begin work on three different projects.
Safety-Service Director Dave Glass said they will be accepting bids soon on the brick replacement project on North McKenzie Street, a water line project on Cougar Drive, and a curb and gutter project on North Mulberry Street.
The brick replacement project is an extension of last year’s work on North McKenzie and will take place between Sugar and Hamtramck streets. The water, sewer and storm drainage lines will be replaced within the project, new curbing will be put in place, the road bed fixed and then the bricks replaced.
The Cougar Drive water line project will include connecting the water line that goes down Cougar Drive to the one near the middle school. Glass said it will help with fire protection in the area.
The final project to be bid will be a Community Development Block Grant project that will fix the curbs, gutters and sidewalks along North Mulberry Street between Burgess and Pleasant streets.
