Susan Thompson Kahrl was named the 2011 Eleanor Wright Unsung Hero Award on Saturday evening at the Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival. A longtime teacher, Kahrl has been involved in Mount Vernon Players and other theater activities, presented historical re-enactments, produced annual student talent shows and performed in a popular Mount Vernon women’s quartet. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Psi Iota Xi and the Town and Country Garden Club.
