MOUNT VERNON — Development plans are in the works for a Chipotle Grill to be opening a new location in the former Bob Evans building on Coshocton Avenue in the Kroger shopping plaza. Safety-Service Director Dave Glass stated that remodeling efforts are currently taking place with no plans for demolition at the current site.

“I approved a sign permit and it’s my understanding they plan to be open before the holidays,” said Glass.

“We’re seeking possession and are getting ready to break ground this week,” Joel Bond, development consultant for Chipotle, told the News on Tuesday. “Our goal is to be open by year’s end.”

No specific dates or details were available on the construction project.
