Mount Vernon city streets and sidewalks were full of youngsters once again this morning as it was the first day of school for Mount Vernon City Schools and numerous other area schools. Representatives of Signline Graphics were attaching lettering on the south side of the building at Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Hunter Hall, the school’s new nursing center, on Tuesday. South Main Street between Ohio Avenue and Gambier Street was closed for the process. While a lift was in place to complete the job, provided by Claggett and Sons Inc., workers took advantage of the situation and washed some windows as well.
