MOUNT VERNON — Traffic flow in Plum Alley between Ohio Avenue and Gambier Street, behind the Buchwald Center and Hunter Hall, will see a change beginning Monday.

Mount Vernon Nazarene University has requested that the southern stretch of the alley, north of Ohio Avenue, be designated as one-way northbound to allow an easier and safer drop-off and pickup of students being shuttled downtown for class sessions.

“We have a new, bigger bus ... the doors are on the right side of the bus,” said Denny Taylor, director of facilities management at MVNU. “By pulling into the alley from Ohio Avenue and exiting Gambier Street toward Mulberry, we won’t have to take our big bus right down through Main Street.” This will allow a convenient drop-off of students at the Buchwald Center and Hunter Hall.”
