MOUNT VERNON — A worker on the water town on the east side of Mount Vernon apparently suffered only a twisted knee in a mishap about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Mount Vernon City Engineer Cameron Keaton said he didn’t have all the details, but the worker was painting on the tower about 10 feet above the ground when he became entangled in safety lines and fell.
The owner of L.C. United Painting Co., Kinto Lulaj, the contractor for the work on the tower, said he could not release the name until he had all the details of the accident. He did say the injuries are minor.
The worker was taken to Knox Community Hospital for treatment by the Mount Vernon Fire Department.
