MILLWOOD — An informational meeting for Millwood residents regarding construction of the village wastewater upgrades took place Thursday evening at the Millwood Church of Christ.

Knox County Board of Commissioners President Teresa Bemiller presided over the meeting and introduced other officials who would share information or answer questions during the session. Among these were Commissioner Roger Reed; Julie Miller, Nate Overholt and Jim Fridrich from the Knox County Health Department; Nick Mill and Doug Mill from AD and Associates, the engineering firm overseeing the project; Nathan Saucer from Elite Contractors, the contractor performing the work; and Amy Shocken from CDC of Ohio.

“For many years, the county has secured several funding sources for this project,” said Bemiller. “We have an Ohio Public Works Commission zero interest loan, Community Development Block Grant funds and special Recovery Zone bonds that we were able to get through the federal government. So out of these funding streams, we are going to pay the cost to get everyone hooked up to the system.”
