Struck twice
This pickup took a double hit in a crash at the intersection of Ohio 657 and Johnstown Road on Monday at 3 p.m. Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Coby Holloway said the driver, Joseph Ulrey, 24, Marengo, was at the crossroad on Ohio 657 just as the car, in the background, driven by Bertrand Krekel Jr., 64, Louisville, Ky., was southbound on Johnstown Road and ran through the stop sign. Ulrey’s truck was hit in the driver’s door, spun around and hit a power brace pole on the right side. Ulrey was taken to Knox Community Hospital by the Central Ohio Joint Fire District and transferred to Ohio State University Medical Center. Trooper Holloway said Krekel suffered a broken nose. He was treated and released. (Photo by Virgil Shipley)
