BLADENSBURG — State Rep. Margaret Ann Ruhl was at the East Knox school board meeting on Wednesday to officially congratulate the elementary school and high school students and staff for achieving excellent designations on their 2010-11 local report cards.

On behalf of the Ohio House of Representatives, Ruhl praised the schools for having such dedicated students, faculty, staff and administrators. She said the students are getting “an exceptional education” and said everyone should be proud of their “distinguished achievement.”

Superintendent Matt Caputo detailed the progress made on the district report card, including meeting 80.8 percent of the indicators, up from 65.4 percent in 2009-10, The district also gained 4.6 percent on its performance index and met the adequate yearly progress requirement.

“Our student achievement,” he said, “is improving because we have a focused and truly passionate staff.”
