MOUNT VERNON — On Friday, Knox County Common Pleas Court Judge Otho Eyster handed down sentences in five felony cases, according to Knox County Prosecutor John Thatcher.
Jessica Stidham, 22, Galion, was convicted of possessing stolen property on March 9. Stidham was sentenced to a three-year term of community control supervision and she was ordered to submit to mandatory drug and alcohol assessment and monitoring. Stidham will serve an 11-month prison sentence if she violates the terms of her supervision. Detective Sgt. Roger Brown and Detective David Light, KCSO, investigated the case.
James R. Frost, 22, Mount Vernon, was convicted of breaking and entering for breaking into a College Street business on March 27. Frost was sentenced to a three-year term of community control supervision, including a 120-day jail sentence, and he was ordered to submit to mandatory drug and alcohol assessment and monitoring. Frost will serve an 11-month prison sentence if he violates the terms of his supervision.

Nathan R. Frasure, 18, Centerburg, was convicted of possessing stolen property on Feb. 26. Frasure was sentenced to a three-year term of community control supervision, including a 60-day jail sentence, and he was ordered to submit to mandatory drug and alcohol assessment and monitoring. Frasure will serve an 11-month prison sentence if he violates the terms of his supervision.

Jeffrey L. Smith, 19, Mount Vernon, was convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor for engaging in sexual conduct with a 13-year-old female, during a period of time between January and April 2011. Smith was sentenced to a three-year term of community control supervision, including a 30-day jail sentence, and he was ordered to have no contact with minors. Smith will serve a 17-month prison sentence if he violates the terms of his supervision. Classified as a Tier II sex offender, Smith will be required to register his address with authorities for the next 25 years. Detective Sgt. Jeff Jacobs, MVPD, investigated the case.
Last November, Nathan P. McGough was released from prison and placed on community control supervision after serving three and a half years of a five-year sentence for felonious assault and attempted burglary convictions. McGough admitted to consuming alcohol on Aug. 13, in violation of the terms of his supervision. McGough was sentenced to jail for 30 days, and he must successfully complete an alcohol program at a halfway house.
