A Kenyon College documentary photography class was at the Woodward Opera House Friday afternoon photographing historical sections of the interior. Jenny Osman, a sophomore from New York City, photographs this old poster pasted to the wall on the second floor. Kenyon Professor of Art, Gregory Spaid, said the project is an essay on the building and is shot on black and white film to give the students experience in the medium. Copies of the pictures will be made for the Woodward Development Corp. (Photo by Virgil Shipley)
Entitled “Life Along the Line,” 31 photos taken by photographer O. Winston Link are in place at the B&O Railroad Depot on West High Street. His pictures of steam railroad engines were shot in the late 1950s as steam power was being phased out on the Norfork and Western Railroad. Kimberly Parker, director of the Link Museum in Roanoke, Va., hung the photos Friday morning. The exhibit opens today and runs through Oct. 6. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays, 1 to 4 p.m. There is an admission fee. The first 1,000 visitors will receive a free poster. Calendars and a book of Link’s photography are available for purchase. (Photo by Sam Barone/Special to the News)
