ST. LOUISVILLE — Meeting in Newton Elementary School, the North Fork school board on Monday formally commended Utica third-grade teacher Julie Hill, who recently received the DOW Professional Excellence in Education award.

Treasurer Jack McDonald told the News on Tuesday the rest of the meeting was largely routine.

Thanks to the North Fork Children’s Foundation, the board was able to issue a number of supplemental contracts for academic and co-curricular activities, and Stephanie Green was awarded a supplemental contract to serve as assistant high school cheerleader advisor and Victoria Preston was tapped to be the junior high cheerleader advisor.
