MOUNT VERNON — Rehabilitation of the building at the city’s impound lot on Greenwood Avenue should be completed within the week.

Mayor Richard Mavis said Parks Superintendent Geoff Oliver said the building is “shaping up better than before.”

The building was damaged earlier this year when someone broke in and set a car stored there on fire. The insurance settlement paid for rehab of the building.

Mavis said Oliver also told him two sets of aluminum bleachers have been ordered and will be installed at Memorial Park in the spring. The bleachers are 27 feet long, 5 feet high and will seat about 90 people. The bleachers will not be moveable and there is a back for people in the top row, which is now required by federal safety regulations.
