CENTERBURG — Somewhat surprisingly, several dozen intrepid individuals braved blustery, drizzly weather to take part in the Heart of Ohio Tour on Saturday.

The well-marked tour route took participants from the Knox County Agricultural Museum through the countryside past rows of corn and soybean fields, pastures and woods, with stops along the way, and concluded at Compton Cabinet Co.

A check of guest books at the stops showed that besides residents of Knox County, the tourists came from places including Upper Arlington, Woodstock, Ohio, and Tucson, Ariz.

Well bundled up against the cold, Olivia Grace Dawson, age 4, enjoyed each stop she and her family made on the tour. When the News caught up with her at Stop 4, Fred Dailey’s beef farm, Olivia said she came on the tour “because my dad was going to take me.”
