Five Mount Vernon Nazarene University students were involved in an automobile accident early Friday morning. One student, Justina Williams, passed away Saturday evening as a result of her injuries. Three of the other students involved have been released from the hospital. One other remains in stable condition.
The final First Friday of the year couldn’t have had more perfect weather.
Crews were laying the five 1/2-inch base layer of asphalt on the first phase of the connector road project Friday and should be laying the intermediate layer today, Mayor Richard Mavis reported.
