Three different state issues will be brought to Ohio voters when they go to the voting booths on Nov. 8. Among these is Issue 1 which deals primarily with raising the age limit in which a judge may be elected or appointed from age 70 to 75. Passage would amend Article IV Section 6 of the Ohio Constitution.

Sponsored by Ohio Representatives Matt Huffman and Lorraine Fende, the proposed bill also calls for eliminating the authority of the General Assembly to establish courts of conciliation, and to eliminate the governor’s authority to appoint a Supreme Court commission.
