MOUNT VERNON — Although there are some differences among how different city departments keep track of their inventories, those differences are relatively small. Generally, these differences are a result of the needs of the departments and the kinds of equipment and supplies they need to keep track of.
Debbie Briscoe, foreman of Mound View Cemetery, has a lot of large pieces of equipment to keep track of.
“I have an equipment inventory list and basically, on that list is mowers, vehicles, major office equipment, such as computers and things like that,” Briscoe said.
She noted the city sets a dollar value on equipment that has to be listed on inventory. The bulk of her equipment falls into the city’s $1,000-plus category. Office supplies and small tools such as hammers do not go on inventory lists.
